Chiniot Power Limited (CPL), is the largest Independent Power producer (IPP) of the country based on Biomass (renewable energy). Chiniot Power Plant is located in Bhawana Tehsil, Chiniot & supplies reliable and un-interrupted energy to the National grid. We are proud of being the first-mover in Pakistan for high Pressure Biomass Boiler in Pakistan. As a significant contributor to the economic development of Pakistan, Sharif Group has come a long way, sharing various challenges and triumphs that our country has offered. Our story began some 5 years ago when Sharif Group came up with an innovative concept and major infrastructure project in sugar industry in a developing country like Pakistan. And today, we stand at a distinctive position where our growth leads to development of the entire country. Chiniot Power offers an environmentally friendly solution for additional power generation, reducing the dependence on fossil fuels and foreign exchange outflows and improving the reliability and efficiency of our sugar mill.
We are enhancing our operational excellence to become a strategic asset for increasing industry competitiveness and encourage a socially responsive corporate culture. Our social investments are primarily centered on areas near our plant sites with full involvement, contribution and engagement of the community. Chiniot Power is the first plant in Pakistan to install 100% ash capturing through installation of Electrostatic Precipitator, thus maintaining European Standards for Air Pollution.
Fueled with the vision to continue to be green energy leader in Pakistan, we are working to constantly improve our standards and explore sustainable ways of producing energy. HEALTH SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT (HSE) AT CPL:
The health safety & environment policy at CPL shows management’s declaration of commitment to continual improvement of its HSE Management system. This includes, but is not limited to eliminating accidents, waste minimization, the prevention of pollution and compliance with corporate, state, and local environmental legislation and regulation. We have dedicated health & safety environment team for implementing HSE policies and procedures, with a dedicated team of 15 people; and 40 more to take care of any emergencies that might occur. Our firefighting system has been designed to comply with international OHSAS and API standards.
